UCM provided construction management and inspecting services for this 3,000 foot segment of 66-inch diameter sewer interceptor constructed beneath US Highway 50.
The tunnel was excavated in soft ground conditions with portions of the tunnel inverted below the groundwater table.
Ground conditions included interbedded deposits of silt, silty sand, cemented silt and sand, and sandy gravel with cobbles and boulders.
The TBM head used to tunnel through the ground.
